Meet the new PCAS Executive Director

I am humbled to be writing our constituents/donors after the first month as the Executive Director of the Park County Animal Shelter. It is an incredible honor to be a part of this amazing well operated nonprofit. I want to thank the Board of Directors for entrusting me to lead PCAS into this new phase and I am energized by what the future holds for the animal shelter. 

As we embark on a new journey together, I wanted to share some background on myself and what inspires and motivates me. 

I am 42, born and raised in Cody, WY. I married my high school sweetheart who was also born and raised in Cody, and we have 2 beautiful girls Chloe (13) and Lily (12). I retired after 20 years as a Sergeant at the Park County Sheriff's Office this past July. While in this position, I learned managerial skills and how to communicate effectively, show grace, empathize, and listen. 

Serving others brings me great joy, so I've spent years as a volunteer with local nonprofit organizations, helping with networking, outreach, and social media. Along with being a people person, I am a goal oriented/results driven individual, so I love fundraising.  My experience in fundraising comes naturally and is something I find great joy.  I have a deep passion for nonprofits and the benefits they bring to our community.  I have extensive experience as a volunteer, board of director, and I personally implemented the Park County Sheriff's Charitable Foundation. 

When the opportunity presented itself, I knew there was no better nonprofit I wanted to give my full attention and contribution to than the PCAS.  The thing that we all share is the undeniable love and commitment for animals, and our unparalleled capability to make a lasting impact!

What's next? 

I will always keep the Park County Animal Shelter mission and values a priority, with strong clarity of our purpose. Below is the beginning of my 30-60-90 Day ACTION plan as the PCAS Executive Director.

First Thirty Days

Onboarding and Goal Setting:

• Introduce myself to board members, employees, and volunteers and constituents/donors.
• Focus on understanding the roles and responsibilities of Executive Director in depth and the key connectors to carry out the mission and vision of the animal shelter.
• Establish proficiency with all tools (systems, programs, software) used on a daily basis.
• Review Strategic plan and goals with the board.
• Ask questions and learn staff job responsibilities.
• Participated in Cody Christmas stroll with PCAS dogs.
• Executed Christmas Dog Chew and Cat Grass Fund Raiser for December 2023.
• Presented PCAS Master Fundraising Plan 2024 to PCAS Board.

Sixty Day Plan

Immersion:

• Progress from proficiency to mastery with tools, software, and communication.
• Familiarize myself with the current and past constituents/donors of PCAS.
• Master Plan fresh ideas with the PCAS Board increasing fundraising opportunities and contributions in 2024.

Ninety Day Plan

Leadership:

• Seek constructive feedback from PCAS Board members and staff on further improving Executive Directors role and responsibilities.
• Identify opportunities within the community for additional funding partners and monthly giving.
• Strategically prepare quarterly marketing campaigns and communications to inform our community about our opportunities.
• Meet quarterly to obtain employee input on operations.
